▲同學們在劍橋大學聆聽ThiesLindenthal教授的招生講座無論是帝國理工還是劍橋，毫無疑問，入學選拔都非常嚴苛，但名校的魅力和極具個性化的學術氛圍之強烈在兩場招生官見面中已表露無遺。來英之前，很多同學一直以為牛津劍橋是個純粹的天才待的地方，自己無法和他們相比。現在看來，能來這里的人只是有夢想并勇敢的去為之努力奮斗了。我們又何嘗不可呢?或許牛津劍橋并不遙遠，遙遠是因為我們內心的種種阻礙。只要堅定不移，努力走下去，那么一定會通向燦爛美好的前方!NomatterImperialCollegeorCambridge,thereisnodoubtthattheselectionprocessisveryrigorous,butthecharmandhighlypersonalizedacademicatmosphereoftheprestigiousuniversitiesisextremelyevidentinthetwoadmissionsofficersmeetings.BeforecomingtotheUK,manystudentshadalwaysthoughtofOxfordandCambridgeasapureplaceforgeniusandcouldnotbecomparedwiththem.Nowitseemsthatpeoplewhocancomehereisjustbecausetheyhavedreamsandbravetoworkhard.Whynotus?PerhapsOxfordandCambridgearenotfaraway,wethinktheyarefarawayjustbecauseofourinnerobstacles.Aslongasweareunswervintomakeourowneffortstogoon,itwillleadtoabrilliantplaceahead!看見你們Bold勇敢無畏行程中為期三天的義工活動，最令人印象深刻的是，為了給FulhamReachBoatClub募捐資金，同學們分成小組走上陌生的倫敦街頭去發放宣傳單，以幫助更多的人有機會接觸這一項目。同學們剛開始都很緊張，又有點害怕，每次說出：sorry,excuseme...之后，很多人都微笑著拒絕，但總有人成功了，是的，人生充滿著拒絕，但只要堅持，總有人會為你駐足停留，特別是當同學們自信地用英文交流所獲得的滿足感，是無法用任何一種價值來衡量的。甚至當活動快接近尾聲，在集合的路上，同學們依舊沒有停止向路人宣傳這個活動。Themostimpressivepartofthethree-dayvolunteeractivityduringthetripwasthatinordertoraisefundsfortheFulhamReachBoatClub,thestudentsweredividedintogroupsandwalkeduptothestreetsofLondontohandoutleafletsinordertohelpmorepeoplehaveaccesstotheproject.Atthebeginning,studentswereverynervous,andalittleafraidofthisthing,everytimewhentheysay:sorry,excuseme...,manypeoplerefusedwithsmile,butstillsomepeoplesucceeded.Yes,lifeisfullofrejection,butaslongasyouinsist,therewillalwaysbesomeonewhowillstayforyou,especiallythesatisfactionthattheygainedfromcommunicationinEnglishconfidently,Ithinkthiscannotbemeasuredbyanykindofvalue.Evenwhentheactivitywascomingtotheend,onthewaytothegathering,ourstudentsstilldidnotstoptopublicizetheactivitytopassers-by.▲為FulhamReachBoatClub募捐除此以外，在天氣惡劣的情況下，同學們積極參與在泰晤士河岸旁清理河道垃圾的工作，其實在英國，河道垃圾清理的工作都是由各行各業的志愿者完成的。在被英國人參與慈善活動的精神所震撼的同時，通過義工系列活動，我們也看到了天行學子們身上寶貴的精神----那就是勇敢無畏(Bold)。當我們走出自我的舒適區，勇敢地突破自我的時候，我們才能收獲機會，收獲感恩，收獲成長。Inaddition,inbadweather,studentstookpartincleaninguptheriverrubbishalongtheThamesBanks.Infact,inBritain,theworkofcleaninguptherivergarbageisdonebyvolunteersfromallwalksoflife.WhilewewereshockedbythespiritofBritishpeopleparticipatingincharityactivities,throughtheseriesofvolunteeractivities,wealsosawthepreciousspiritofTeensensstudents--thatis,Bold.Whenwestepoutofourcomfortzoneandbreakthroughourselvesbravely,wegainopportunities,gaingratitude,gaingrowth.▲同學們在清理河道垃圾看見你們Caring關愛他人記得剛到英國的時候，就有同學提醒老師，Jessica即將在英國過生日，沒想到大家去超市的時候買的都是送給Jessica的生日禮物;更讓暖心的是，在西餐廳用餐時，大家看到忙前忙后一直服務我們的英國小哥非常辛苦，聽聞老師倡議給小費時，大家紛紛贊同，也貢獻了自己的部分。這位小哥知道我們來自中國后，興奮地不停地說謝謝。在我們錄播HappyNewYear視頻時，現場其他的客人也為我們響起陣陣掌聲。IrememberwhenwejustarrivedintheUK,somestudentsremindedteachersthatJessicawasgoingtocelebrateherbirthdayintheUK.IdidntexpectthateveryonewouldbuyJessicaabirthdaypresentwhentheywenttothesupermarket.Whatsmore,whenwehaddinnerinthewesternrestaurant,wesawthattheBritishboywhohadbeenservingusallthetimewasworkingveryhard.Whenourstudentheardthattheteacherproposedtogivehimatip,theyallagreedandcontributedtheirownpart.WhentheboyknewwewerefromChina,hekeptsayingthankyouexcitedly.WhenwerecordedandbroadcastthevideoHappyNewYear,otherguestsalsoapplaudedforus.▲大家為Jessica過生日在英國的最后幾個晚上，我們召開了感恩分享大會，總結到倫敦以后的點滴收獲以及想要感恩的人或事。本想利用這個會議，鍛煉同學們總結分享的能力，沒想到結果超出了我們的預料。隨后同行的時間，大家相處的更為融洽、更關心彼此了。當看到有同學表達不夠自信時，用力的鼓掌為其加油;當看到自己的同伴因時差不停地打瞌睡時，會友善地提醒;當看到同伴鞋帶松了，會蹲下來為其系鞋帶;當聽聞國內新冠病毒疫情嚴重時，好幾位同學提出為大家提供N95口罩......InthelastfewnightsintheUK,weheldagratitudesharingconferencetosummarizewhatwehavelearnedinLondonandwhoorwhatwewanttobegratefulfor.Iwantedtousethismeetingtopracticestudentsabilitytosummarizeandshare,buttheresultwasbeyondourexpectation.Later,duringthetimewewenttosomewheretogether,wegetalongmoreharmoniouslyandmoreconcernedabouteachother.Anytimewhenastudentexpressedlackofconfidence,therewerealwaysahardapplauseforcheeringthispersonup;Whenourstudentsawhisorherpartnerdozingoffbecauseoftimelag,theywillremindthemkindly.Whentheysawtheirpartnersshoelacegotloose,theycroucheddowninordertotietheirshoelace.WhentheyheardtheseriousoutbreakofthenewcoronavirusinChina,severalstudentsproposedtoprovideN95masksforeveryonewhoareneedit.▲同學們在集體討論點點滴滴的愛不經意間已讓我們身體里流淌的天行血液更加沸騰了，感恩更讓我們懂得愛，分享愛，傳播愛!DribsanddrabslovehasenableTeensensspiritwiderlyspreaded,thanksgivingmakeusunderstandlove,sharelove,spreadlove!看見你們Devoted全情投入在參觀寶馬mini工廠、大英博物館、英國自然歷史博物館、劍橋大學城及溫莎城堡等景點后，帶隊老師們安排了每天必不可少的ProjectDiscussion,希望同學們養成認真聆聽、勤于思考、團隊協作的好習慣!無論是分組QA問答，還是小組presentation展示總結，視頻任務的布置等，每一位同學都帶著責任感和使命去參與每天的行程，而不僅僅只是簡單的游覽和參觀。我們看到的是每一處參觀游覽，同學們都投入的記錄著，觀察著。這讓我們幾位帶隊老師非常興奮!AftervisitingtheBMWminifactory,theBritishmuseum,theBritishmuseumofnaturalhistory,theuniversitytownofCambridge,Windsorcastleandotherscenicspots,theteachersarrangedProjectDiscussion,whichiscompulsoryeveryday.Ihopethatstudentscandevelopthegoodhabitoflisteningcarefully,thinkingdiligentlyandtryingtocooperatewitheachother!WhetheritisQAsectionalization,grouppresentationsummary,videotaskarrangement,etc.,everystudentparticipatedinthedailytripwithasenseofresponsibilityandmission,insteadofjustsightseeingandvisiting.Whatwesawineveryplacewevisited,studentswereengagedinrecordingandobserving.Thismadeseveralleadingteachersfeltprettyexcited!▲參觀寶馬mini工廠▲參觀大英博物館但整個行程最令人興奮的是三天英國倫敦大學學院(UCL)的專業性課程給同學們帶來的成長和幫助。ButthemostexcitingpartofthetripwasthethreedaysofprofessionalcoursesatuniversitycollegeLondon(UCL).第一天有幸聆聽了著名UCL建筑系博士、國家發改委一帶一路PPP專家，中國臺灣籍Dr.Chueng的講座，了解到倫敦城市結構設計的演變史。幾乎通曉了整個英國歷史，講課幽默、生動有趣，課程中還不停的表揚鼓勵大家，同學們備受鼓舞也為接下來的課程奠定了堅實的基礎!Onthefirstday,WehadthehonortolistentothelectureofDr.Chueng,afamousdoctorofUCLarchitecturedepartment,TheBeltAndTheRoadinitiativePPPexpertofthenationaldevelopmentandreformcommissionwithaTaiwanese,andlearnedabouttheevolutionhistoryofLondonsurbanstructuredesign.wewerealmostfamiliarwiththewholehistoryofBritain,thelectureishumorous,livelyandinteresting,Healsocontinuedtopraiseandencourageeveryone,studentswerestimulatedandlaidasolidfoundationforthenextcourse!▲同學們聆聽Dr.Chueng老師的講座第二天授課教授是ChrisBrierley,曾在耶魯大學擔任博士后研究員,現任UCL地理系環境科學副教授。他的授課方法很有意思，地理加物理知識專業講解了globalwarming，很欣喜看到同學們都融入其中，尤其令人印象深刻的是教授ChrisBrierley的groupdiscussion的方法。在解釋完所有理論點之后，用類似模聯的形式讓同學代表各個department提議proposal。最感人的是結尾部分對個人情感的分類深挖，站在教室不同的角落，代表不同的情感，讓同學們接受采訪。下課回到酒店后，晚上同學們還繼續忙碌討論第三天的presentation考核，月亮不睡，他們不睡。TheseconddaywastaughtbyChrisBrierley,aformerpostdoctoralfellowatYalewhoisnowanassociateprofessorofenvironmentalscienceinthedepartmentofgeographyatUCL.Histeachingmethodisveryinteresting.Hehasexplainedglobalwarminginhismajorofgeographyandphysics,andIamgladtoseethatallthestudentsparticipatedinit.WhatisparticularlyimpressiveistheChrisBrierleysmethodofteachingwhichiscalledgroupdiscussion.Afterexplainingallthetheoreticalpoints,askthestudentstomakeproposalsonbehalfofeachdepartmentinaformsimilartomodelunitednations.Themosttouchingpartistheclassificationdeepdiggingofpersonalemotionsintheend,studentwereaskedtostandindifferentcornersoftheclassroom,andrepresenteddifferentemotions,andacceptedtheinterview.Afterclass,wewentbacktothehotel,thestudentscontinuedtodiscussthepresentationassessmentonthethirddayintheevening,ifthemoondidnotsleep,theydidnotsleepatthesametime.▲ChrisBrierley老師的課堂第三天授課的是ProfessorRaminNassehi，他先后畢業于牛津大學與倫敦政治與經濟學院，現在UCL經濟系教授。一開始，聽說他是UCL經濟學最王牌教授，非常strict，我們幾位帶隊老師都有點擔心。但教授很懂中國學生，他那句Ihaveallthetimetowait讓大家知道你必須開口。除了用簡單通俗的教學法讓我們懂得什麼是世界經濟，最重要的是教會我們如何做presentation：一定要有清晰的outline，一定要有shock你的message，一定要有令人反思的summary。很快，就到了最激動人心的presentation小組展示部分，同學們從上課時鴉雀無聲到令人瞠目結舌地頻頻點頭。連第一天上課的教授看到同學們第三天的表現后，都稱贊同學們真的進步很大。Onthethirdday,RaminNassehi,agraduateofOxfordUniversityandtheLondonschoolofeconomics,isnowaProfessorofeconomicsatUCL.Atfirst,IheardthathewastheaceprofessorofeconomicsatUCL,whoisextremelystrict,andwewerealllittleworried.ButtheprofessorknowsalotaboutChinesestudents,andhisIhaveallthetimetowaitenableseveryonetoknowthatyouhavetospeak.Inadditiontothesimpleandpopularteachingmethodtoletusknowwhatworldeconomyis.Themostimportantthingistoteachushowtomakeapresentation:theremustbeaclearoutline,yourmessagemustbeshock,andareflectivesummary.Soonitwastimeforthemostexcitingpartofthegrouppresentation,wherestudentswerefromcompletesilenceinclasstojaw-droppingnods.Eventheprofessoronthefirstdaypraisedtheperformanceonthethirddayfortheirgreatprogress.▲ProfessorRaminNassehi的課堂▲UCL結課合影看到每位學子站上講臺的侃侃而談，默契的團隊合作，此行，他們真的全力以赴，以個人，以小組，以天行意志在全情投入這幾天的學習。對于拿到或沒有拿到letterofattainment的同學們，他們一定也知道：努力不一定有回報，但不努力絕對沒有。所有付出的一切，都一定是值得的。Afterseeingeachstudentstoodontheplatformwiththefluenttalkandtacitteamcooperationinthistrip,theyreallygotimprovedwithindividual,withthegroup,withtheTeensenswillingtofullyimmersedinthesedaysstudy.Forthestudentwhogotordidnotgetaletterofattainment,theymustalsoknowthateffortmaynothavereward,butifnoeffortwasmade,onemustdonthaveanyreward.Wheneveryoupaysomethingtodothings,itmustbeworthwhile.觀世界，看自己。游學讓我們用更多元化的角度去看世界，也是重新打開自己的一種方式。此行，我們確實看到了自己的優勢還有自己的不足;它使我們的人生之路更加堅實、平坦，目標更加清晰。我想，這次游學對各方的影響，今天還無法全部估量;它在我們看見或看不見的地方埋下了許多種子，讓同學們堅定去更大的世界，成就更好的自己!Weseeourselvesbyseeingtheworld.StudyTourallowsustoseetheworldfromamorediversifiedperspectiveandisalsoawaytore-openourselves.Onthistrip,wedidseebothourstrengthsandourweaknesses;Itmakesthepathofourlifemoresolid,moresmooth,andourgoalsaremoreclear.Ithinktheimpactofthestudytouronallsidescannotbefullymeasuredtoday;Itplantedabunchofseedsintheplacethatwecanseeorcannotsee,whichcanmakestudentsgotothebiggerworldfirmly,becomeabetterversionofthemselves!撰寫：Christine李萍攝影：Christine李萍編輯：Wendy賈西貝翻譯：Annie胡昕嫄朗讀：Roxy黃昱榕Annie易柯帆Irene巫倩宇Tom熊藝鋒主編：Jane肖依總編：Gary高陸來源：天行一中
